NOVEMBER 2024
Greetings from Teach for Wellness!
The clocks have changed, it’s getting darker earlier, and as many of us know and experience, that shift can significantly impact mental health. Moreover, the recent election has likely resulted in a wide range of emotional responses, for teachers and for students.
Check out this month’s resources to help ensure the mental health of you and your students are attended to this season!
- You can’t pour from an empty cup, and you can’t care for your students’ mental health without first caring for yours. Consider watching “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay”, a webinar from the National Education Association and Active Minds on educator mental health.
- Tune in to the latest episode of the Mindbeat Podcast from Effective School Solutions, Clinician Roundtable: Navigating the Latest in School-Based Mental Health Services. They’ll share the mental and behavioral health challenges they’re seeing, unpack the root causes, and offer actionable steps educators can take to create more mental health support in schools this year.
Stay tuned, for an exciting learning opportunity with Teach for Wellness!

Restorative Circles are a great practice to incorporate into your schools and classrooms, and they can support strong community-building in your spaces.
Circles take care, intention, and practice to facilitate effectively, but wherever you are is a good place to start! If you’re looking for guidance, check out this comprehensive resource from Mediators Beyond Borders International on the Circle Process.
Nervous to try it out with students? Consider practicing the process with your teaching team or trusted colleagues, using content and questions that feel safe as a starting point.
